Cytomark - Flow Cytometry Reagents

Cytomark is a UK Biotechnology Company formed to bring to market blood stabilisation technologies developed by UK NEQAS who are responsible for External Quality Assurance in Blood Pathology in the UK and many other countries in Europe.
Cytomark have two blood stabilisation technologies:

  • TransFix® – A Cellular stabilisation Reagent.

TransFix® is a CE marked cellular stabilisation solution that when added to Whole Blood, Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF), Bone Marrow and Fine Needle Aspirates, preserves cell surface antigens for a minimum of 10 days. 
TransFix® is added to whole blood samples at the time of venepuncture and provides stabilisation to permit extended storage and/or transportation. This allows greater flexibility for testing and potential reduction in costs e.g. by allowing samples to be batched.
TransFix® is available in several formats: blood or CSF sample storage tubes, direct draw vacuum blood collection tubes and in bulk volumes.

  • Blood Controls for Flow Cytometry
The quantitation of CD4+ cells in human blood by flow cytometry provides a vital tool in evaluating human immunodeficiencies. Cytomark have developed two stabilised preparations of human blood with known CD4 absolute counts. They are intended for use as daily run controls in blood sample analysis.
CD4 Blood Controls are available in two formats; CD4 Normal - between 410 and 1590 cells/µl and CD4 Low - between 200 and 300 cells/µl, which simulates CD4 levels in advanced HIV/AIDS patients.
